The Abortion Industry: A Wolf in “Women’s Health” Clothing

This is the hardest article I have had to compose thus far. In all honesty, I did not want to write this article as the only abortion I have experienced was considered a spontaneous abortion, better known as a miscarriage at 8 weeks; but when God calls you to something, you must trust that you have the tools needed to convey the message He wants to send.

I have proclaimed my Christian faith in every article that I have written along with every circle that I have come into in my day to day life. My position on an intentional abortion will always be that I am against it. In doing research for this article, I watched a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester abortion video narrated by an ex-abortionist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFZDhM5Gwhk. It was heart shattering to say the least and solidified my stance on pro-life. The abortion industry has disguised itself as reproductive health and in its midst is an attack on mothers and their children.

History of Abortion

The first recorded history of an abortion was in Ancient Egypt around 3,500 years ago https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/23/health/abortion-is-ancient-history-and-that-matters-today-scn#:~:text=Earliest%20references%20to%20abortion,they%20were%20used%2C%20Fissell%20said. Aside from Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, India, and Assyria also have record of abortion practices.

Some cite that Numbers 5:11-31 provides proof that Christianity approves of abortion but I assume that those who quote this scripture have not read the Bible nor understand the context. The story is entitled The Test for an Unfaithful Wife. To summarize this story, an unfaithful wife must take an oath that she has not had sex with another man and drink the cup given to her by the priest. If she has been faithful, nothing happens but if she has had sex with another man, a curse falls upon her womb. This is not in support of abortion but in opposition of adultery. Some of you reading this may think this is a harsh punishment for an unfaithful wife, but the punishment for an unfaithful husband is death by stoning. Now, these are both Old Testament punishments before the gift of Christ Jesus.

Planned Parenthood and most notably Margaret Sanger, are the epitome of reproductive rights in the US and globally. Many have heralded Sanger’s work and the work of Planned Parenthood but few go into the declarations made by and the original intent of Planned Parenthood and abortion clinics of similar mission statements.

Searching for Margaret Sanger’s controversial quotes lead to very little. The quotes that can be found are cleaned up very nicely by the web in order to continue the work that Sanger started. According to the CDC, Black Women account for 24.4 abortions per 1,000 women while White Women account for just 5.7 per 1,000 https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/73/ss/ss7307a1.htm#:~:text=Results:%20For%202022%2C%20a%20total,%E2%80%9329%20years%2C%20respectively). Another study conducted by Guttmacher reported roughly 48% of black women account for all abortions while 27% are white, 21% Hispanic, and 8% other https://www.heyjane.com/articles/us-abortion-statistics#:~:text=Black%20patients:%2042.9%25,racial/ethnic%20groups:%208.2%25. In 2024, RFK Jr stated that 85% of abortions are carried out for black women https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-yWYS1Cr2Y/.

Instead of using my words to speak for Margaret Sanger, I will allow her words to speak for themselves. Keep in mind that in 1919, African-American women had higher birth rates than Caucasian women in the United States https://www.milbank.org/wp-content/uploads/mq/volume-49/issue-03/49-3-part-1-The-Timing-of-the-First-Birth-Female-Roles-and-Black-Fertility.pdf

Quotes from Margaret Sanger:

“Eugenics sterilization is an urgent need…We must prevent multiplication of this bad stock”.

Margaret Sanger, April 1933 Birth Control Review

-“The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant member is to kill it. Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race”.

Margaret Sanger, Woman, Morality, and Birth Control. New York:New York Publishing Company, 1922. Page 12

-“We should have three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful education approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

**The minister in reference could be Dr. Martin Luther King Jr who supported Margaret Sanger publicly https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2016/nov/14/pat-robertson/pat-robertson-absurdly-says-sanger-king-conspired-/#:~:text=Robertson%2C%20you’ll%20remember%2C,In%20it%2C%20King%20wrote:

Margaret Sanger’s December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton Massachusetts.

-“The third group are those irresponsible and reckless ones having little regard for the consequences of acts, or whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers. Many of this group are diseased, feeble-minded, and are of the pauper element dependent upon the normal and fit members of society for their support. There is no doubt in the minds of all thinking people that the procreation of this group should be stopped.”

Margaret Sanger. Speech quoted in Birth Control: What Is Is, How It Works, What It Will Do. The Proceedings of the First American Birth Control Conference. Held at the Hotel Plaze, New York City, November 11-12, 1921. Published by the Birth Control Review, Gothic Press, pages 172 and 174.

-“I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.”

Margaret Sanger, An Autobiography, published in 1938, p. 366.

The first Planned Parenthood was opened in Brooklyn, New York in 1916. Between 1910 and 1920, the black population of Brooklyn went from roughly 91,000 to 152,000 https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/history/great-northern-migration.

The internet may attempt to cover up the wickedness of Margaret Sanger and the founding mission of Planned Parenthood, but Planned Parenthood’s official website accepts her racist and sick rhetoric on their history page in an attempt to denounce Sanger https://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/who-we-are/our-history. The problem with this is that they may denounce Sanger, but they have not denounced nor ceased her mission.

What happens to the Baby that is Aborted?

With the abortion pill, some women may flush the baby and others may bury it. When you have a medical abortion, the fetal tissue can be used for research, vaccines, and a plethora of other known and unknown uses.

According to the Los Angeles Times, two biomedical companies were sued for selling post abortion fetal tissue to buyers all over the world. They reached a settlement of $7.785 million with the Orange County District Attorney’s office https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-fetal-tissue-20171209-story.html#:~:text=Firms%20reach%20$7.8%2Dmillion%20settlement,fetal%20tissue%20%2D%20Los%20Angeles%20Times

The National Institute of Health reports that fetal tissue is used in research and vaccines such as the M-M-R-II, VARIVAX, and HAVRIX. These vaccines are more commonly known as immunizations for rubella, varicella, and hepatitis A https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6027112/.

The M-M-R-II AND VARIVAX vaccine is expected to generate $5 Billion by 2025 year end https://www.fortunebusinessinsights.com/measles-mumps-rubella-mmr-vaccines-market-113753.

In 2024, HAVRIX or the Hep A vaccine had a market value of $759 million with an estimated projection of $948.16 million by 2034 https://www.towardshealthcare.com/insights/hepatitis-a-vaccine-market-sizing.

The United States House Committee on Ways & Means reported that the abortion industry costs the U.S. economy $6.9 Trillion https://waysandmeans.house.gov/2022/06/16/report-abortion-costs-u-s-economy-6-9-trillion/ while the abortion industry reportedly pulled in $4.6 Billion in revenue in 2023 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_Parenthood#:~:text=In%20the%20fiscal%20year%20ending,came%20from%20other%20operating%20revenue.

Will God Forgive Me for Having an Abortion?

The simple answer is yes. We have all fallen short of the Glory of God. In Matthew 12:31 it says: “Therefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men…”

The first step in receiving forgiveness from God is to ask for it. In whatever way you pray, let God know what you are going through, how you feel about it, why you made the decision, and turn away from making the same decision again.

The next step is to forgive yourself. For some of us, we will need to ask God to help us to forgive ourselves which can be really hard to do. The feeling of guilt, that feeling that you deserve to be punished, that feeling has already been experienced and relieved by the death of Christ Jesus. We need not to sit within our sins or our shortcomings, but we must make every attempt to prevent ourselves from falling into the same temptation again. It is ok to feel bad, it is ok to cry, it is ok to wonder if you made the right or wrong choice but it is not ok to sit in this choice for the rest of your life. Jesus said that He came so that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. Our sins do not define us, our God does.

The final step is to take up the work God is calling you to do in His Kingdom. No matter how large or how small you may perceive it to be, it is something that someone needs in their journey on this path to God.

Matthew 19:14

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
